2014 Civic transmission failure

2014 Civic transmission failure
I own a 2014 Civic EX. 140,000 miles. About 100,000 of these miles are highway miles. Recently the transmission failed and cost was $6000 to replace! Car had always been serviced at Honda just like our other two Hondas (CRV and Pilot) I contacted Honda and they opened a case but I have heard nothing from them. I was figuring $3000 and not $6000. Has anyone else had trouble with the CVT transmission on this era of Civic?
