Engine Light

I have a 2006 civic lx , check engine light came on I checked gas cap its fine, stayed on for two days .. this morning I noticed left rear tire was really low on air, I took out the compressor and filled it started car and check engine light was off. so my question is this is tire pressure in any way connected with the check engine light or is this a coincidence

Re: Engine Light

I don't know of any reason the CEL would have come on due to a low tire. If it comes back swing by an Autozone or equivalent, they will read the fault for free.

Re: Engine Light

The tightening of the gas cap won’t immediately remedy the light. It usually takes a decent amount of driving to reset.

I agree, all I’m saying is he wouldn’t know immediately if it was the gas cap or not.
