Rpm surge issues nightmare (videos)
Rpm surge issues nightmare (videos)
guys ive tried everything,
after cleaning my TB the rpm were surging like they are in the video when coasting in neutral but when car is stopped they drop down to idle. car idles fine, only happens when coasting in neutral above 0km/h as soon as car stops it idles fine.
ive gone ahead and replaced the TB gasket with a thermal one, cleaned my MAF, did idle relearn and check almost every hose that i can.
i have two codes one for the Evap and ones for O2 sensor
i have attached two videos one is driving and the rpm surging when coasting in neutral, and another one of me revving. sorry the driving video is shaky
Another thing when the car is started even at warmed up temps it tends to rev upto 2500 and stay there for a sec and then come down to 1500 and then idle.
before cleaning the TB the rpm would not surge but stay at 2k when coasting in neutral
i just wanna know what could be wrong, before i just go ahead and spend another 120 on a throttle body

smoke test for vacuum leaks.
no point in changing Throttle body, likely there was no need for the first - very rare the need to do that...

So, it started after you tried to clean the TB? potentially that dislodged some debris and they get stuck somewhere
and it does not happen when not moving? so either air flow when moving or some system that activates when moving
no recommendations from your buddy's shop?

yea before cleaning it it used to be solid 2k when coasting in neutral and then would drop to idle when car stops.
but now it surges from 1500RPM to exactly 2500 i observed it today.
when not moving it idles fine at around 850 sometimes spikes upto 900 and then down but pretty good idle.
could be something got stuck somewhere ive never ran into a problem like this one so its very hard to diagnose
he's a diesel truck mechanic so he just told me to replace the TB add some injector cleaner and all that to make sure but idk if changing the TB is gonna make a difference or not since it idles perfectly fine.
