first time built 04' Civic 4 door lx
Hello fellas, i just came across a 04 civic with very little miles and stick shift, very good price and looking for help on suggestions towards suspension/stability and performance parts for it. new to the forum and would love the feed back and support, again I am a first time Honda Build up Owner..

Budget is the biggest question here.
Tein is probably your best bet for suspension.
As for performance; again, it depends on your budget. Your only real ways to get power is to turbo or K-swap. Financially speaking, you’re better off starting with a different platform, but there are a few guys on here who have swapped/turbo’d their civics.
Lots of threads on here for you to read on your own time.

Thanks for the reply , ill take a look at the tein products as well, but for now im more stability rather than performance as NYC speed limits are at all time low :-{ but i have seen a few affordable swaps and trans i can get into for the future, not trying to over spend either, not rich but have a secured job thatll pay for things in due time..

by smoother you mean less shaking over a series of bumps? So that means chassis bracing...
the only one that have some effect is the front strut brace, which the good ones are getting scarce (neuspeed do not make them anymore, DC still had? or the opposite?)
tires - it is advisable to keep tire OD same (changes in speedo will throw off speed and mileage).
to reduce shaking, taller sidewall tires are preferable.
wider tires.... not sure what to say. Maybe it will slightly change the unsprung weight, but not much....
Ah, LX do not have rear anti-roll bar nor does have supports for it... One of the recommended changes is to install one. However, it might increase harshness over uneven pavement

well i can tell u once you lower your vehicle if you are looking for a softer ride that will not be the case
i bought my 05 brand new and drove it every day and the factory ride is ok
but once i bought a brand new set of Megan Racing Coilover and i lowered mine as low as i could get
ride quality was what i expected and was a bit harsh for some people
you might want to look into lowering springs as they seem to give people some great benefits of closing that fender to tire gap
mine i wanted the slammed look so i was willing to compromise a few things to get it
and parts add up quick on these but thankfully parts are out there used now and that always helps
stay safe out there
i am in Western NY state and as you say roads are not always the best
God Bless,John

Welll...
the issue is that most of the recommended struts/shocks were discontinued.
The only one left seem to be the new Tein struts for lowering springs.
I was thinking on replacing my KYB AGX, and realized they and the tokiko HP blues are goners now.
