Front end problems

I've got an 05 Civic ex with the 1.7. when I accelerate, the front end shimmies. When I decelerate, the front end shimmies. And there's alot of popping going on. Swaybar links or CV axle?

Re: Front end problems

Can vibrations be felt under the front driver seat, steering wheel or both? If so, there may be separated belt in one or more the four tires. Did a balancing weight fall off one or more of the tires? As Colin mentioned worn control arm bushings may be the issue. Worn ball joints generally making a popping noise going over bumps at slow speeds: https://vfauto.com/common-problems-c...-bushings-fix/

A worn inner CV axle (bearings) can cause a rotational imbalance but typically noticeable on acceleration more-so than deceleration. To test an inner axle press straight up and down on the inner axle housing from underneath it (both). Some play in the inner axle is normal but there shouldn't be an excessive amount. Loose strut top nuts or worn strut bearing can make a popping noise.
