the civic has a GREAT clutch if your trying to learn to drive a stick then a civic is a good choice the clutch is really soft unlike stangs where you have to really press hard against the clutch

This is my first civic so I don't really know how long the clutches typically last. Plus, the clutch may not be the same one that was used in past generations. I know several people have reported that their clutches went out very early. I think one person had like 8k and another about 2x that. Both said that honda didn't find any defects. There is no telling whether something was wrong or they were just really hard on the clutch.

I had a friend that replaced his clutch at like 20k in a ranger and believe me it wasn't the clutch, it was the operator!

All clutches are gonna go sometime or another but the better the driver drives the car the longer it will last. Everytime you put your foot on that clutch you are wearing down its life.

The clutches on our cars are pretty good... how can you tell a clutch has worn out? Clicking noise doesn't exactly means that it's gone. Mines clicks, too. If it squeaks, it might need lubricating. Otherwise, at 10,000 miles that sounds ridiculous for the clutch to be totally gone unless your foot is pressing down the clutch too much or something. That's odd...

Honestly, I think Hondas have the most durable stock clutch. People who's clutches go out that early, I think, is b/c they cannot drive.

well if you drive a lot during rush hours then the clutch will go faster. so try avoid the rush hours if possible.

i dont think the clutch is under warranty cuz it is a wear-and-tear item like tires, brake pads..etc
but if the clutch cylinder is leaking then u can try bring it in to the dealer and ask them to fix it.

Some said that they have like a 14 point inspection for determining whether a clutch or any part of the assembly is defective. You would have to be really hard on a clutch, and I mean tearing it up, to burn it up at such low mileage. It can easily be done though. Anyhow, I am kinda looking forward to mine going out as well. I know I would need a new clutch for the gude package anyway.
