2005 HCH Issue

Need help here please.. I recharged my car battery because it ran down due to the cold weather. After recharging it and putting it back in the car, it threw a check engine light and the OBD code reader won’t work. The ima system is in limp mode and won’t work as well for safety reasons...what the hell is wrong???

Re: 2005 HCH Issue

You can force the car to charge the battery, if you rev the car to 3500 - 3600rpm, it will then charge the battery.

I also purchased a 2003-2005 Honda Civic Hybrid EL-1 IMA Battery Grid Charger and it has been very useful for refreshing the battery pack, it fixed my IMA battery issue. There is some controversy if the grid chargers work as well as people say, all I can tell you, it fixed the IMA light on mine, for 9 months now. It cannot work miracles though, if the battery is aged and damaged then it can't do much. I'm only the second owner of my HCH, the previous owner used as his daily driver, 90% highway miles to his place of work, I think this has helped keep the car and battery in good shape.
