Working on intake swap, running 880cc injectors. Still working on porting. Opened up exhaust substantially. Still working on thicker plastic intake gaskets and having a custom gring done on the cam, also cleaning and polishing all valves.

during the initial startup, i have so much damn mystery oil and assembly lube, i'm going to use walmart sythnetic 5w20 for 20 min.
drain it, change filter, and use 5w20 royal purple.

Run the Amsoil 20w50, competition diesel. I run that daily no problem. I guarantee it.

A friend of mine made this out of cheap LS headers for a 1.6 using the 1.6 flange. No leaks gonna run 50lbs of boost. This was because he's bored.

i works but it’s not the right way to do it the oil is so thick that you run the risk or the oil being to thick to lubricate the rod bearings because the base viscosity of the rated oil is 5 which is thinner vs the 20 which is 4 times thicker, plus you’ll get shitty gas mileage because your pistons will work harder to go up and down because it is moving through a thicker oil and if it’s turbo you will gain a lot of lag
side note, thicker oil does not mean more protection it’s the quality of oil you buy full synthetic has the same amount of protection no matter what rating full synthetic being the best oil

Been down this road already my friend, the turbo cooks the oil like you would never believe. This 1.7 engine does not have the highest oil psi from the factory. So adding the turbo just adds to a poor oiling system and then we cook it through the turbo. Thats why most people fail on this setup.
