2014 civic coupe rim upgrade oem lug nut question

Good Morning to All,
i have upgraded my rims from the factory 16" steelies with the hub cap lug nuts to a set of oem 16" alloy rims ( I think the honda part no. is 42700tr3c93). Although the lug nuts seem to fit the rim hole taper, I am concerned with using the steel rim lug nuts with the plastic hub cap retainer with the alloy rims. What would be the correct oem/factory lug nut for these rims?

Thanks in advance to anyone who would know the correct lug nut part number.

Sincerely,

2014redcivic

You could remove the plastic rings, or get aftermarket lug nuts. I got a set from amazon for like $30 that were the correct round taper.
honda wants $8 cdn a pop so I went aftermarket, no complaints after 2 years and I use my steelie set with my winter rims

Thanks Colin42 for the quick answer.

So the factory lug nuts for the steel rims are the same for the aluminum rims and the only difference is the plastic ring to hold on the hub caps? I was worried since sometimes manufacturers use different lug nuts (longer) for their aluminum rims.

Since I am in Cleveland, Ohio, funny you mentioned snow tires, because that is exactly the situation i am dealing with.
I put the new snow tires on the steel rims that came with the car and found a set of great looking oem 16" aluminum rims for the summer months.

Sincerely,

There's the little lip to hold the plastic ring but otherwise they're the same length and whatever

Just peel off the plastic rings and use the same original lug nuts.

Keep the plastic rings for later if you want to use hubcaps with the winter steelies.
