Exclamation plastic rings around oem lug nuts needed?

hey guys i was wondering if the plastic rings around the oem lug nuts serve any important purpose? cuz i was thinking of taking off the rings so it fits in my new rims more nicely? and also it kinna looks like it takes yp too much room. but yea do they serve any purpose?

Its to hold on stock hub caps if you have them. Only required for this purpose.

all 01-02 EXs come with hubs unless you got the HFP, 03s got the 99-00si wheels and then 04-05 got different rims...

You need new wheels. OEM honda nuts are ball seat, and 99.9% of aftermarket wheels are cone seat. Never use a ball seat nut in a cone seat wheel, unless you like to have your wheels fly off on you after a month of wear.
