Alarm Install Help
I am trying to install a Auto Mate 475 alarm, that I bought used. Problem is I don't have a installation manual, and I'm stuck. I can't seem to find where to plug in the parking lights. The alarm has a white wire that is supposed to plug into the parking lights, but I cant seem to find it. Can any body help me?
Follow instruction is found in my Automate 415 alarm that was installed w/ the factory keyless entry system for Civic 01. I hope this helps.
The (+) parking light wire is often found near the switch. Many cars have the switch built into the turn signal lever and in these cars the parking light wire can be found in the steering column. The same wire is often available in the kick panel or runnung board.
1. Set to DCV or DV voltage (12V or 20V is fine)
2. Attach the (-) probe of the meter to chassis ground
3. Probe the wire you suspect of being the parking light wire. usually, the area near the heading/parking light switch is an excellent area to start, as is the kick panel
4. Turn on the parking lights. if your meter shows (+) 12V, turn off the parking lights and make sure it goes back to zero.
5. If it does return to zero, turn the parking light back on and, using the dash light dimmer control, turn the brightness of the dash lights up and down. If the meter changes more than a volt when using the dimmer, look for another wire. If it stays relatively closed to +12V, you have found your parking light wire!!!!!!

If I remember correctly honda uses a red/green wire for the parking lights, this can be found at the steering column, the driver side door sill, or the green plug behind the radio....it can also be found at the light green plug in the fuse box.....if this is no the right color just turn on the parking lights and unplug one harness at the fuse box at a time until the lights go out, then use a meter to find the parking lights in that molex plug

It was the plug in the fuse box. I just plugged it in and BAM! The alarm works just like it should. Thanks for your help guys!
