Timing belt
Timing belt
Just done a timing belt ,tensioner and water pump change on a 04 cuvic. The timing is dead on but it seems to need you to give it a little fuel now to start it and seems though when you try to pick up speed now it's like a Rev limiter kick's in at 3000 rpm. Any advice?

P0340
Figure out why the code is set.
Connector not fully seated?
The other codes are important too, but I don't believe they will cause the limp mode.
Re: Timing belt
It must be the wire harness got pinched or something like that. I cleared the code with my scanner butas soon as I started to Rev it a little the code came back

Re: Timing belt
Double check your work
Consult service manual, check voltages in the plug
replace sensor (use a Honda part)
Was the P0325 code present before doing the timing belt job?
Re: Timing belt
No code before the timingredients belt job. That's what you get for trying to take short cuts though. Apparently you don't get any help posting a Buick question on a Buick forum either. Maybe there's no hope for theme lol

Re: Timing belt
What shortcuts did you try to do, and what happened?
Surely the check engine light has been on before you did the work, yes?
Is there any possible relationship between the three fault codes that could logically explain setting all 3 at once?
Did someone short out a 5 volt reference line while working?

Re: Timing belt
OK I back probed wires for cam shaft sensor and not broke like I feared they were so I'm guessing the sensor. Do they go that fast? Car was working fine but had a rubbing noise that turned out to be the springfor tensioner. Now this problem. Thanks for the help btw
Re: Timing belt
All I know is whenot I pulled the upper timing cover the springwas still hooked to tensioner still hooked to tensioner and the other end of spring had the clip or coil on it broke
Re: Timing belt
Re: Timing belt
Got it. 1 of the tabs on the plug in part of the sensor was bent just enough for it not get signal. That's what you get for trying to hurry a job like that up. Thanks for all your help and input guys. It's greally appreciated
Re: Timing belt

i can't believe your engine was still running that way, you are so lucky that belt and your valves were not destroyed,
was the engine still running fine BEFORE you replaced the timing belt?
Re: Timing belt
Your telling me. I don't drive it at all and the wife tells me every day about something new wron with it. Guess I should listen more. Now she can get the key out is the next problem. Won't even go back enough to lock steering

I CAN QUIT ANY TIME I WANT!!!!
Hey, why are all these people he----IS THIS AN INTERVENTION?!?!?!
Holy cow, I think that's a first for this forum LOL. How in the world did you manage to......
I guess that's part of rechecking your work huh? Glad you found that, I might never have guessed a bent pin.
But that shouldn't explain the knock sensor code..... Erase codes and see if that P0325 code stays gone for a while?
Selective hearing...Many of us have it LOL
Check fuses, check that the shifter actually goes into the park position (P lights up on the dash) and shifter is locked in place until you put your foot on the brake.
IF it's an interlock issue......You may be able to take the column covers off and remove the solenoid and plunger from the bottom of the lock housing and get the key to turn all the way back, just to get it shut off and key out. Then figure out why it happened and fix it.
Hope it's not a worn key and damaged tumbler(s) causing the issue.
