Need help! ITA engine light on

I know nothing about hybrids and need to hear your thoughts. I recently bought a 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid, everything runs great but the ITA engine light is on. I took it to my mechanic and he said the OBDII code (didnt get exact code # from him) for the Hybrid Battery Control Module popped. He believes I need a new Hybrid battery control module and/or possibly a new hybrid battery.

The car runs great and seems to charge and assist when driving. The battery appeared to charge to 100% while driving home. I haven't driven the car in 5 days, but now the battery is down to two bars. Does this mean the battery is still good and should only replace the battery control module? Thoughts?

Go to your dealership. See if the IMA battery is still covered by the warranty extension.
