Question about winter tires for Honda Civic 2010

Hello Civic Forum:

I am a newbie buying winter tires. I judst want to make the right choice.

My car is a Honda Civic 2010. The tires dimensions are 195/65R15/91H.

I am looking to buy winter tires with rims. The ones that I found online have rims and came from a Honda Civic 2012. The number is P195/65R15 with 5x5 bolts 5-114.

Since I was looking for the correct sizes and correct offset I found that for the Honda Civic 2012 there is an offset of 51 mm.

For the Honda civic 2010 the offset is 48 mm.

Then on the right hand side of the webpage it states that the offset fro HOnda Civic 2010 can be from
Offset (mm): 42 - 55.

Is this correct? Is there any way to check if the tires will work in the car?
The tires that I am buying and used. What kind of sign should I look for to make sure the tires are in good condition for the winter?

A friend told me that I can ask the seller to mount a tire on the car and then move the wheel all the way to the left or right. This is with the purpose to make sure the wheel doesn't touch any part of the car.

Would this tires work just fine in the Honda Civic 2010?

Any suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

offset of 51 mm.
offset is 48 mm.
A difference of 3mm offset between stock wheels is inconsequential IMO. I'd bolt them on and run it, no problem.

How much tread depth is left on the snow tires?
Generally, once a set of snow tires has worn to 50% of tread life they may be no better than regular all season tires.
You can probably go online and find out original tread depth of the tires you are looking at, then compare to the present measured depth.

Snow tires seem to work best when new. This is important if you have to depend on them.
I wouldn't buy used unless they are as good as new LOL
