1992 DX Hatchback lock will only open and close when door handle is pulled
See title, the lock still locks and unlocks, but only when I pull on the handle. Feels like it's getting caught on something. Any ideas? Have the door panel off all ready, I can't seem to see anything binding it up.

That's how it's built, it's working as designed.
It's explained in the owners manual if you still have one.
It's done that way so you have to make more than one mistake before you lock your keys inside LOL (I've managed to do it though.)
If you're talking about the rear hatch, see if the outside handle is rusted up or if the latch needs a squirt of lubricant.
