anyone know how Scissor doors are done on civics??

lately ive being seing lots of hooked up older civics with scissor doors, how would this be done? all it really has to be is a pnumatic cylinder and some kind of modified hinge. anyone that has seen this done or know someone that has please talk. thanks [IMG]i/expressions/beer_yum.gif[/IMG]

a friend of mine has an accord with scissor doors, and that's exactly how it's done.. it's costly in both time and money, though

i would have the hinges fabricated at a metal shop (got the hook up ) and pnumatic cylinders arnt that hard to find

Ive heard horror stories of people trying to do this and failed........now their doors leak and dont close right. This is'nt a Do it yourselfer job......you need to call a pro for this one

yeah, definitely get a shop to at least help you do it, because this is a VERY difficult process. make sure the scissor doors come out, and then swing up. otherwise, it ain't gonna work. i'll try to get pics, but if any of ya'll are in houston, go over to jisatsu racing and ask to see Lansi's accord/prelude/skyline/lambo hybrid.

yeah...I plan on doing that this summer...well come August when I go back to the shop for school. I plan on doing scissor doors, shave handles, and shave and relocate the gas tank behind my back left taillight.

i think this is a pretty hard DIY, what if your doors fall of when you are driving fast? at least have a shop do it so they are liable for any damage that might happen, and why are you relocating your gas tank?

relocate gas tank to left taillight meaning not the actual tank but where you put the gas, you know that lil door. shave that and put it behind the taillight
