can anyone help please.

My dome light doesn't come on when i open any door or even the hood or boot, but when i enter the key into the ignition it comes on and stays on, and when i take the key out it takes about 5 mins to turn off.

Think the last part about it cutting off is correct. Sounds like your little pokey in and out switch may may be bad down on the door jam. Is it stuck in?

but the light doesnt react if the doors are open or not, only when i insert the key into ignition, but isnt it suppose to normally go off at that point instead of coming on

When it comes on and stays on (after timing out) and then stays on until it times out again after key out...... leads me to think the system constantly sees a door as being open.

Pull your pin switches and inspect them. Leave them hanging out and see if symptoms change.

ive tried hanging all of them out and it still the same issue, i even swapped the two front switches around but to no effect. the thing is my new fob doesnt work either as the system thinks the doors are open.

Do you have unlock from fob ??

Do you get headlights on warning from drivers door ??

yea fob opens the doors but doesnt lock it and no headlight warning

Well......the dome is under the control (and still is) of the MICU/Body computer inside the under-dash fuse box, based on it's inputs.

Do you own a DMM ??
