Just quit and won't restart.

96 civic ex auto -was driving and car just quit and will not restart. No check engine light came on. will crank but no go. when cycle key fuel pump hums. What should I check now ?

An engine needs

Compression
Spark
Fuel

In the correct amounts, at the correct times.

What's missing from yours?

If the main (FI) relay is fine ( fuel injectors pressure is good ) them may be spark. Check coil and module in the distributor if you are not getting spark.

When is the last time you've had the timing belt checked/replaced? You need to check and make sure it's still intact and in position. My bet is it broke or slipped. When it cranks does it sound like a normal crank or not so much?
