'01 rear struts on '04?

Hey guys, so I picked up a set of rear struts from one of a friend's here on the forum. After I got them I searched the parts number and it said they were for a 01-02 ex. I asked him about it and he said he was pretty sure they would still work, but I just wanted to double check. Will they?

I think you will need to drill the mounts a bit to make them work. Check around here, but it seems like a common thing to do.

Not drill but shave off some of the lower bushing. I believe the lower bushing is a little wider so it needs to be trimmed a little.

I may be thinking of RSX rear struts though. Either way they should fit easily.

Lower bushing? But they should work correctly? Is there a way to remove the bolts holding the assembly to the car without an impact gun? I tried the other day but wasn't really set up very well to do it.

The part that the bolt goes through on the bottom is the lower bushing. Yes they should work correctly.

Use 1/2" drive sockets and wrench. That's all I needed to do mine. Maybe some PB blaster if the parts have not been removed in some time.

Is it the center metal eye that I'm shaving down? And I doubt the have ever been taken off. I'm pretty sure these are the stock struts.

Yep, but I would wait to see if it fits before shaving. If you measure it I can compare it to my rear struts. I have a set for my 01 in my basement.

I can just crawl under my car. I'm pretty sure it was the same. I was a little concerned with the length though. Wasn't sure if they would be long enough. I'm in the process of moving so I really haven't had time to do anything to the car.
