Help!

Alright so im having a little problem. Today I lowered my car on Tein S Techs. Me and a friend of mine did the work. Its a 1.5" drop but the problem is in the front I noticed when I turn I hear a popping sound. He told me that it was my cv joints popping because they are level. Im wondering if any of you guys had this issue? Im going to cut the springs tomorrow to go about a .5" lower to get some angle back on the cv joints. Mine is a 02 ex coupe.

Re: Help!

Don't cut the springs!!!

You probably didn't index the springs properly and the sound you hear is the strut mount bearing.

Read this:

Step 19 is for indexing.

Re: Help!

I wanna say we did index them right. Like it said the bolts won't line up right if it wasn't. But i'll check it and try again see if thats the problem. If its not then the springs are getting cut lol. Kinda want to go a little lower anyways haha.

Have someone turn the wheel while you look at the springs to see if they are getting hung up. They are probably not turning properly in the strut mounts.

Re: Help!

Well I found the problem. Tein S Techs come with a brown rubber boot strip at the end of one side of the spring. I took it off before I installed them. Heres the funny part,... I wasnt supposed to so i put it back on and no more movement in the springs!!! Thanks for the help though. Appreciate it.

Re: Help!

I didnt end up cutting them haha. I thought about it and their too nice to cut. So i started thinking and the brown strips that are at the bottom of the springs are supposed to stay on and i took them off. Thats why it was popping because the spring was moving around. So i just put the brown strip back on and no more popping.
