car makes clunking sound when turning right
car makes clunking sound when turning right
I have a 2005 civic and a month ago I noticed a noise that seems like its coming from the front drivers side, it started out sounding like something was rubbing and was not very loud at all and now a month later it sounds like more of a clunking noise but only when I turn right. Also at first it was only when I made sharper right turns now its every time I make a right turn. I already checked the CV joints they seem to be in good shape, and I know my car needs an alignment, could that be it? also I am going to be replacing the rear struts but one of the bolts wont come out so I am still working on that, but the noise comes from the front drivers side could it have to do with the rear struts?
Re: car makes clunking sound when turning right
Check the stabilizer end links. You should be able to try moving them with your hand. Turn the wheel all the way to the left or right to expose the stabilizer bar. Google will help show you what they look like. "Honda Civic Stabilizer bar" and "Honda Civic Stabilizer End Link".
Re: car makes clunking sound when turning right
i just had the same problems. drove with the clunk noise forever. Recenetly redid all my suspension and brought it in to get in aligned. When they were doing it they said they would not be able to do it until i replaced the bushings on one of the links not completely sure what ones ill check the receit later. But once they put those in and aligned the car the clunk was gone.
