Rims 2014 Civic Coupe

Hi guys I am an older guy mid 50s Just purchased a new 2014 Civic coupe EX for the wife in black. This has the new CVT trans and was wondering if we would have trouble turning 18 inch rims? This has the stock 1.8l engine as the SI comes with 18s but the bigger engine 2l.Thoughts please and what would look nice, maybe all black rim?

You wouldn't have a problem running 18's as far as the engine is concerned. Just make sure you try to get a tire size that will not throw your speedo off to much. Use a tire calculator.

That's to much black in my opinion. I also don't prefer black wheels because the tires are black and it all just blends together. White or Bronze would look nice. If that is to much for you then silver is always a good choice.

Re: Rims 2014 Civic Coupe

Dealer will need to do a recalibration for the new bigger wheels to keep the TPMS system happy....

and if you use wheels with a different offset than the approved 18" OEM accessory wheels, this may cause issues.

I checked with Honda Canada and dealer thank god there is no TPMS on the Coupe EX,tire rack suggests a 215/40/18 but on the stock SI with 18s they are 225/40/r18 tire size right from Honda confusing sometimes, but i think it is the width that friggs it up.
