94 civic dx won't start after putting gas in it

my son said it won't start after putting some gas in it. if it sits for few minutes it will start. i have had it run rough and stall a couple times when coming to a stop but it starts right back up. any ideas.

Locate the purge control solenoid. See if it is stuck open.
