Check engine light after fuel pump repair

About a week ago i had to change a part of the fuel pump assembly on my 2003 honda civic lx. The car runs great but for some reason the check engine light came on today and there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with it. Any ideas on what i could check for?

Did you have someone look up the codes? You can do that at most auto parts stores like Autozone and O'Reilly's for free.

Definitely get the code read. It could be related to the fuel pump or it could be purely coincidental that it came on when it did.

i got the code it was p0171(system too lean). ill try to check the connections on the weird fuel pump assembly on my car .

Low fuel pressure would certainly be a possible cause, but certainly not the only possible cause.

Seems like a fuel pressure test would be in order, in order to see if it is.
