Need Help Finding Parts
This is my first post on this forum so excuse me is I do anything that is seen as rude. I just got my first Honda. It's a Civic DX Hatchback with the 1.5 in it. I bought the car on Craigslist so naturally it needs some tlc. I can't seem to find the stock side skits that came on the vehicle and I'm missing both. So if anyone can point me in the direction of a pair it would be greatly appreciated. Also looking at a few basic mechanical upgrades and need some advise. Thanks everyone.

Re: Need Help Finding Parts
I have two older Civics I try to keep alive. They are great vehicles, but parts are getting harder and harder to come by.
I have found that used parts from a "U-pull-it" or "pick-a-part" type yard is often the only option.
There are a couple of local yards that have on-line inventory that show make, model, year, location in the yard, and arrival date. That helps me find several cars that potentially have what I am looking for before I make the trip.
Still, some of the more "common failure" parts are usually gone milliseconds after the car arrives, but....
There were so many of these out there, that fresh ones still arrive for salvage at a pretty reliable rate.
There are also still available aftermarket parts in a lot of areas. Honda used to have a needle, seat and float kit for the '87 1.5L carburetor but no more. You can still get a float in one after market kit and needle and seat in another, but nowhere can you get a float, needle, and seat set. Most of the vacuum valves are also no longer available even as aftermarket, so those are usually a salvage yard "scavenger hunt" item.
I think I got the last three bushings for the radius arms available anywhere - two were Honda and one was Moog, but these are not available OEM nor aftermarket now.
You can get aftermarket radius arms, some even say they come with bushings (but they don't).
Bottom line- you may have to get creative and you may have to settle for used to find what you are looking for.
