55W HIDs on my housing

So I was looking at my headlight housing today and saw "55W" marked on it. Now I know I might sound stupid but does that mean the housing can withstand 55w? I got this car with this headlight housing so I'm not sure if it's stock or aftermarket. im guessing aftermarket (sorry i'm dumb )

The housing says H4, so i'm assuming they take H4 HID bulbs. I'm planning on upgrading my bulbs because right now my highbeams don't really work... sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't and it's very iffy. (more on the doesn't work side) I checked the ballast and it's a 35W ballast.

I'm trying to choose between either 10000K 35W bulbs, or 10000K 55W bulbs + ballasts from DDMtuning. I'm trying to achieve a bluish color that looks like this http://www.hidlightsusa.com/images/s...lue-10000k.jpg
I heard some good reviews about ddmtuning and it's very cheap, so i'm not sure which one to buy. It should pretty much be just plug and play after I buy the sets right?

Re: 55W HIDs on my housing

The 55W would be the bulb rating, but if it can take take a 55 W bulb then it will be able to handle the HID kit. Since it sounds like you already have a kit then yes it will be plug in play.

The temp is personal preference but the higher you go the less lumens the bulb puts out so it won't be as bright.
