hey i am very new to forums but i can really use some ones help that knows this stuff. i think i made a mistake by doing this but i got a really good deal on winter tires for my 08 civic sedan the question is will they fit i tried putting one on and they are so tight does some one know if there is any way this will work. it is a stock car and the tires are 225 55r17. thanks in advance if some =one can help. also btw i currently have 225 45r17 summers on and they work perfect.

Your speedo will be off but the width is the same so no problems there and the sidewall will be larger but shouldn't hit the fender at factory height.

Hold the tire up to the wheel and see. If you add an extra .9 inches to your current tire sidewall height that will tell you were the tire should be about.

225/55 is much rounder tire than a 225/45 usually is. and OD might be bigger than a simple math could indicate. might not fit...
