Brake Cleaner and SeaFoam. need advice.

So, hello everyone, hope youre doing well!
First off, Can spraying brakes parts cleaner on the injectors(the tip where it sits in the chamber) Make the injectors to clog up?

And Whats the best Fuel System cleaning product to clean your injectors and all the vacuum ways?

A lot of people talk about Seafoam or Techron? what works the best?!

I have never used Seafoam but I don't like the idea that you can stick it in every orifice of your car and it will "clean" it. Are you having issues that are leading you to want to clean the fuel system?

Use a high quality fuel like Exxon or Shell. This will prevent carbon build up and help keep your engine running clean.

Yes, I am having problems that is leading me to this.
It started from giving me an EGR code P0401, I cleaned the chamber sprayed break cleaner on the Injectors, then i believe some in the manifold too... then I put it back together started the car and it ran fine(running for like 1 min). Then The next day in the highway, i noticed that it was misfiring when I had my foot slightly on the gas and cruising. No misfire in idle only under load when driving.

Could be bad injector(s) do you have any spares? I use seafoam for fuel injection cleaner/service. Never used it with oil or fuel tank.

Re: Brake Cleaner and SeaFoam. need advice.

I have not been able to make posts since about Tuesday, due to some still unknown reason. I finally figured out to change to "No Page Style" in order to make a post, but I can't tell what I'm doing yet. P0401 is a flow code, normally meaning the passages between the EGR valve and the intake manifold are clogged with carbon buildup. You can't "spray and pray" this fixed. Ain't gonna work. The only way to cure this is to physically clean out the passage(s). The 6th gen has a distribution chamber on the manifold right below the injector rail. Cleaning this fixes 99% of P0401 codes. http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/egr-fix/ I don't replace gaskets or anything unless damaged. They are steel and don't tear like paper would. HTH

Re: Brake Cleaner and SeaFoam. need advice.

Okay guys, I got it fixed!!!
So when i cleaned the EGR ports first, i didn't really clean them just a little bit, and possible when i started the car for couple seconds it could have sucked the in the whole or something. So, when got the chamber plate off, I could see the carbon built up, all black on Cyln 2,3 BUT, it was all clean and shinny on Cyln. 1 and 4.

So cleaned the ports again and put it back together, its running all good! Now i'll have to fix the timing since it was advanced before. Only reason im turning the timing back is because I got new spark plugs and since they arent worn out like the old ones, detonation.

Thank you all for the help!!!

Did you advance your timing because of the misfire or because your spark plugs were old??
