My the oil pump in my 2000 Civic Si with 129000 miles seized at highway speed
shearing the teeth of the timing belt and thus bending the valves in the head.
This has caused me to wonder what kind of money could I get on the street for it as is.
It has been lowered with the usual suspension/ intake/ exhuast mods.
I have no interest in dropping $2500 for a used engine.
I figure it was worth $2500 used but that is just Edmunds value calculator.
I know this car has a street value in it's current state that is much higher.
Like a fool I listed it on Craigslist for $500 and immediately got 60 replies. I removed the listings.



Anyone here know what I should list this at?

Well if an engine is $2500 and your asking $2500 then someone will be paying $5000 to get a running car. That's high.

Start high and see what happens. If you list it for $2000 and no one calls then lower the price. It's worth what someone is willing to pay.

That's not realistic since this is a highly sought after project car. I sold it today to my mechanic for $1000 and that was probably low. He can drop a used engine it for cheap like $2000 and sell for $5K easy. Oh well it was a pain in the *** chewing up tires long before they're time and 90 Db interior noise.
