Brake Pads/ABS

Hi guys i just have a few questions regarding my Civic 2006 LX. It has front disk/rear drum brakes.

Now the question is i live in Canada, is it better for me to go diretly to a dealer to get the pads changed or can i rely on the internet to purchase a good quaility front brake pads?

Are these any good? http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sk...html?loc=Front

What would happen if i were to buy non ABS brake pads and ABS brake pads? Because for some reason i feel like my ABS isn't working is there a wiring problem somewhere? Don't get me wrong the reason i'm changing the brake pads is because they are worn out and not because of ABS working or not, i can hear the disc noise and going any further could damage the dics. Do u guys have a better price/performance brake pads?

Thanks

Re: Brake Pads/ABS

There is no difference between the pads. ABS is a control system, not a type of brake pads.

What makes you say that your abs isn't working? Are the wheels locking up under hard braking?

Re: Brake Pads/ABS

just assuming, but if your pads are goners, and you have metal-to-metal contact, they will not have power enough to even get the ABS to kick-in...
