7th generation civic suspension
7th generation civic suspension
A friend of mine has a 99 integra with a lowered suspension. I'm thinking about buying the suspension of him, but I'm not sure if it will fit my 2004 civic sedan. Does anybody know for certain?
Re: 7th generation civic suspension
They are different. If you want to have ANY chance of using the integra suspension you will need at least the rear trailing arms, knuckles, shocks/springs, tie rod ends, etc. It will require drilling new mounting hols for the suspension and also possibly fabricating brackets to make it work. It's DEFINITELY NOT A simple bolt on. I highly recommend you buy the right coilovers for your car if you want to lower it.

Re: 7th generation civic suspension
Tom, he is asking if he can use double wishbone suspension parts in a macPherson type suspension - not gonna happen unless heavy chassis cutting and welding and reinforcing.
he wants to mix 2 older genarations (6th - not even a civic, BTW, to a 7th) and worse yet, posted on the newer generation forums (8th/9th gen).
so, he does not have a clue what he is talking about, nor even to look where he is posting...

I know Sandro that's why I responded the way I did. The rears aren't tooooo bad... You need :
Knuckles
Trailing arms
Shocks/Springs
The sway bar and links should work. Might need new links though. Rear should be mainly bolt on... never done it though, so I can't be sure.
Fronts are a whole different story. The connecting points are all different and the tie rod placement is different too. You would need
Knuckles
Shocks/springs
Tie rod ends (at least)
Both lower/upper control arms
Then you might run into axle length issues, and all the mounting points would be different... OP I know you wanted a simple answer I'm just elaborating in case anyone else was interested in doing this.

Re: 7th generation civic suspension
subframes were different too, if i am not mistaken (for the completely different lower control arm) and no mounting points for the upper control arm in the chassis.
