Stock suspension adjustable??
Stock suspension adjustable??
Hey guys,
I'm a new member and have a question about my 03 civic lx sedan.
I was wondering if the stock rear suspension was adjustable.
When I was replacing my rear speakers I notices that there was something on top of the strut that looked like it could be adjusted with an Allen wrench.
Does anybody know if that means it is adjustable or not?
Thanks.

Re: Stock suspension adjustable??
I wouldn't mess with it. I haven't really looked all that close at the stock rear struts, but I'd assume they're on a factory present and shouldn't be altered.
But if you try it and break one on accident, it gives you an excuse to buy coilovers instead

Re: Stock suspension adjustable??
The Allen wrench hex is only there to hold the shaft still during assembly and torquing.
There is nothing adjustable on a stock setup.

Re: Stock suspension adjustable??
erm... if they are adjustable, most are not by an hex...
it's for holding the shaft to not to turn when torqueing the nut... look in some of our DIY suspension swaps...
most have or a **** or a adjustment with a screw driver (not to screw the setting, mind you... hopefully...)
