Alternator belt is probably too loose.
Inspect condition. Dried and cracking? Replace it. And get the belt tight....There are specifications published in repair info.
Belt is OK? Tighten it by adjusting the alternator.

ezone is right on. You sound fairly new to cars though so let me encourage you by saying that tightening the alternator belt is a pretty easy thing to do. Probably pretty cheap to get a mechanic to do it also, btw.
In my opinion, Haynes manuals (the ones at autostores) aren't very good but I have one because sometimes the OEM service manual pictures aren't good either. However, for the sake of $15 I think every car owner should at least own the Hayne's manual.
If you were to buy one and look up the alternator belt, it would likely show you a very simple procedure to tighten the belt and would be pretty honest as to how it really goes and would require minimal tools. However, the part that may be tricky is the right belt tension. ezone may have some advice there but for a start, just make it "tighter than it is". If the squeal goes away - that's a win in my book.
