P0235 BUT with 44mph on 2002 Civic
Hi All,
I have read many posts on this engine code P0235, but my milage has gone up to 40-44mpg, because I drive mostly downhill
Anyways, the code has been reset a few times, and I am not experiencing accelleration lag, or bogging. The only thing amiss is once in a while the temp gauage goes up to H once ever 50 - 90 miles for 30 seconds or so.
From all the posts I have seen, none actually have a good picture of the Knock Sensor location on my 2002 Honda Civic EX, VTEC engine.
Here is a picture of the firewall side engine with the oil filter removed.
Any ideas?
thanks in advance.

You mean P0325, right?
Apparently it is slightly above that large coolant pipe, above the oil pressure switch. The service manual says to remove the intake manifold to change it.
This is pretty similar locationwise, see the green arrow:

It looks like you could get to it with out taking the intake manifold off. It's up to you. The knock sensor should be torqued to 192 in/lbs or 16 ft/lbs.
It's piece 10 on the drawing below.

Well, the engine light went off and stayed off long enough for vehicle inspection. I figure it is not the knock sensor but a loose wire or connection somewhere.
