I can't say I know a lot about this kind of thing, but here comes a little input. Your description says initially it was tough to get us and slamming door helped, so that sounds like motor, regulator (which I hear is common) or a loose or broken wire. I think you need to test the wire coming to the motor and or regulator to see if there is power there. Whether there is or isn't will point you in which direction of the circuit to look for the problem. If there's power at the connection then you want to test the motor and regulator separate from the circuit. If there's not, backtrack to the switch to see if there's power out of the switch. If not then test back to the fuse block to see if you've got power there. Breaking the circuit into smaller pieces youll be able to pinpoint what works and what doesnt. Remember just because you put in a new part doesn't mean it couldn't be defective. Good luck!

good write up rollondad,my guess was broken wire inside were the door opens at the fender, alot of movement there and wires will work themselves to a breaking point, .open the rubber boot and have a look. cheers,

i agree with antrmo, i had the same problem on my 96 and the wires between the door and fender were loose. so i strongly suggest u check those wires out.
