what are good rear speakers for 2002 civic ex?
i blew my back left rear speaker this morning, and now it crackles/pops when i play music. i would like to purchase some new speakers and try to install it myself. any suggestions on a good brand of speakers or a good price range would be greatly appreciated!

depends on how deep your pocket is.
depends on if you are running an aftermarket headunit
depends if you are going to power it with an amp
depends if u have a sedan or coupe

the cheapest sony explode speakers you can find at wallmart. and replacing the rear speakers is an ordeal because you have to replace them from inside the car under all that plastic back there have fun.

if you are only changing speakers and have no amps, stick with a low power speaker. the cheap pioneers at walmart with 30w rms are very decent. anything higher and it will sound terrible being underpowered. the stock deck is only around 10-15w rms per channel, aftermarket maybe 20w max. when you start buying speakers with 60w rms power input, you need to get an amp to run them properly.

the stock speaker is only 22w and like 5w RMS.... so if you choose a speaker, choose one that is no more than 50w (ish) and no more than 25w rms (ish)
that way, they will be powered correctly. you generally want to have speakers that are 25% more rms then the original source

I've got 2 different head units I could run those through....one has 18ish watts rms and one puts out 23 watts rms per channel...would that make a difference?
