2000 SE 72K kms maintenance / Do it or NOT?

Hi guys,

Just bought an civic 2000 SE ( canadian ) from an old person. The car haves 72 000 kms, and it is the time to do the 72k maintenance, according to the manual.

Things to do :

flush coolant system
flush brake system

For a car that have 72 000 kms... it that all nesessary?

Regards,
Francis.

Just going to throw in my 02 here.

Your manual actually says XX years/XX XXXkms. So your probably past due on many things on the years side of things more so then the kms side of things. Like a timing belt would be 7 years or 160 000 kms. There is a reason why they give estimates in years as well as kms. That timing belt has gone through 12 years of start/stop, cold/hot, etc even though it's not close to it's km rating. Hydrolic fluid absorbs moisture over the course of years and that is what gives it that dark colour. If you don't change the fluid when it gets dark then that moisture will eventually rust out the metal brake lines from the inside out. Coolant is supposed to be changed every 3 years because of a similar theme causing corrosion in your engine.

Things to think about.
