i have honda civic 2001 with 191,000km. 2 weeks ago i hear this grinding sound in front of passenger side. when i accelerate, it makes grinding sound and it is even louder when i shift it to neutral (30-60 kmph), when i apply my brakes it doesnt make any grinding noise. At 100 kmph i don't really hear it, maybe because of my loud muffler. what might be causing this sound.... thanks

Does the noise progressively get louder, change in sounds (like the pitch) or seem to be constant with the tire speed? I would rotate that tire manually by hand and confirm that it is on that side and in the front end. Could still be something wrong with the brake system; possibly wheel bearing.

When was your last brake change? It could be the brakes.
