Question No Start 2002 Civic HELP!!!

My daughters car wouldn't start at work the other day. It was running fine before that,no issues what so ever. I have the car at my house now, friend towed it for me. Here's what i have...no codes..fuel pump is working fine,I have spark...timing belt is good also....didn't jump time, marks line up perfect. Input and output voltage good at the cmp sensor and the crank sensor. I've even given it at shot of starting fluid, not even a burp!....the compression is anywhere from 100 to 115,thats a tad low. The car ran like a top before this, about 33 mpg.
I'm a prety decent mechanic, been working on trucks and buses many a year,my old cars too. This has me stumped, new cars lol....any help or hints would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

Re: No Start 2002 Civic HELP!!!

Compression is way low, if that is accurate.
Flooded? Spark plugs wet?
Oil the cylinders. Dry the plugs.

Re: No Start 2002 Civic HELP!!!

So are the plugs wet?

Wet with fuel?

Hold the gas pedal to the floor and crank the crap out of it until it dries out and builds compression again and tries to fire.......if it was flooded.

Re: No Start 2002 Civic HELP!!!

I hope you used the correct NGK or Denso plugs.

Throw away Botch Platinums.

Re: No Start 2002 Civic HELP!!!

So it's flooding itself, or it WAS flooded and hasn't cleared itself out.

When you were cranking, did you hold the gas pedal to the floor? This shuts off the fuel injectors while cranking.

Maybe: How about disconnecting the 4 injectors and crank it until it fires off, then reconnect them?

Re: No Start 2002 Civic HELP!!!

Have you cranked it with all the plugs out? You may have to do this every time the plugs get wet in order to dry out the cylinders. Oiling the cylinders helps restore compression.

After oiling the cylinders, is the compression still low? A good engine will give 200+ psi if you keep cranking it until the gauge stops climbing.

Is the battery still strong?

Re: No Start 2002 Civic HELP!!!

Battery is good, had my charger on it. Cranked it more times then i can count with the plugs out. Yes, the compression is low,the car was running great until the other day when it wouldn't start. No smoke on start up,nothing like that. I drove the car on Tuesday, runs fantastic.

Re: No Start 2002 Civic HELP!!!

If the cam timing is correct, then it sounds like it flooded.
Raw fuel washes the oil film off the cylinder walls so compression drops.

Unless it got overheated.....

Is the CTS reading accurately on a datalist?
