flywheel/crankshaft alignment

Hi,

I'm replacing the clutch on my 04 civic. I'm currently installing the flywheel to the crankshaft and I was wondering if the flywheel has a certain orientation on the crankshaft? or can it be installed in any position. I didn't mark it as I was expecting a dowel pin in the crankshaft.

Thanks in advance, jig

Re: flywheel/crankshaft alignment

If there is an offset bolt hole, then it will only fit one way.

If it will bolt on in any position, then it does not matter.

Re: flywheel/crankshaft alignment

Thanks, ezone

I don't have any offset bolt holes. I also read that the 1.7L is internally balanced so, i'm bolting it up.
