hi people, i want hids in my civic, but i hear that they are too bright on stock headlights.

im just wanting a 6k kit, dont know much about hondas yet

I run 4300k kit in my civic. Never had any issues with the cops and had them in for over 2 years now.

4300k is pure white and has no blue tint to it so it does not get the attention some of the more blueish kits to.

6k wont be to bright. Most kits are only 35watt kits unless you get a 55 watt kit.

6k is just going to have a little blue tint to the light. 4300k is actually brighter than 6k is.

ive got 8000k in my projectors and there just like a tint of blue...HOWEVER the problem isnt how bright they are (the brighter the better) BUT if you put them in stock headlights MAKE SURE YOU somehow modify the reflectors so you dont blind people in front of you. you dont want to be "that guy". but your best bet is to get some projectors for hids because they have a cutoff in the lense (seen here)



notice the straight line across the top. you wont get this in reflectors but that cutoff stops light from getting in other drivers eyes.

if you put hids in your stock reflectors without modifying them youll probably get pulled over...just saying.

btw a good way to test if their aimed right or not shining in peoples eyes. drive another car and have a friend drive yours behind you. if the light is annoyingly bright youll get pulled over (atleast around here)

their ebay projectors lol and i think my phone made it look like more than it really is. but for the price i paid their acceptable. one day ill put some morimoto minis in it.

but still their a lot better than hids in reflectors. my friend put hids in his jetta and i cant stand him driving behind me lol

I have found with a Bixenon kit you get a reflector part that holds the bulb. Does not seem to give off the blinding light to on coming drivers that way.

I know your supposed to only install these on the correct headlights but this has helped me.

I've just upgraded my HID light to 30K...over here in Pittsburgh it's getting crazy with these lights. I'm seeing just straight blue and purple light.first pic is my 12K and the other two pics of silverstar ultra's and my 30K HID together.

The best and cheapest HID setup for 6th gens are 55w 4500K color temperature H4 hi/low HIDs from DDMtuning. 4500K so it is pure white

Some of their hi/low doodads don't really give you much longer range when you turn on the high beams. It is 1 single bulb for each side so a solenoid sucks in the bulbs when you want high beam. But 1 of version of them do, these;

doesn't do so well with hi/low. It just changes the spray pattern. Still good for communication though.

The top link, it works better than the bottom link bulbs but still not anywhere near perfect. It's still a 'spray pattern' rather than a beam.

I mean it works great, you've got the best headlights on the road compared to anyone else, great visibility, decently long range, but other drivers will see lots of glare. But who cares. I hardly ever get flashed and no police stops. I take off the glare shields before installing them so I get max illumination.

Gotta love DDM's lifetime warranty, a bulb has gone out I think 3 times now, partly because I use the bulbs whenever I'm driving, even during the day, and the bulbs are being driven at 55w instead of 35w. I have a cheap $10 pair of HIDs from Ebay in case the DDMs ever go out.
