Hello, about a month ago I purchased an 03 civic coupe and there was a problem with the door lock. The problem is, the door wont unlock or lock unless im inside the car and the door is closed and only works if I manually move the door lock up or down. With the remote, only the passanger side lock works. Also, I can not lock or unlock the car with the key from the drivers side door. When I put the key in, it moves alittle but not enough to lock or unlock the cylinder. I took the inner door panel off and everything seems to be connected just fine. Has anyone else had this problem or have any idea on how to fix it?

I had the same problem on my 03 civic. My lock seized up on me, well it seized up before i got the car, but you get the point. Spray some kind of release agent inside of the key hole. I used nutcracker just because thats all i had and now it works fine as far as unlocking and locking from the outside. However, i cannot lock the door when it is open, which is probably related to the lock, but not the same issue. Anyways, try some kind of lubricant in the lock. It worked for me. Hope this helps.
