Oil light? Car dies while in motion?
Oil light? Car dies while in motion?
So this has been an ongoing problem for about a month. I will be driving my car and all the sudden the brake light and oil light will come on and my car will be ****ed. Help please no mechanics are open and I am retarded with cars haha.
its a manual, 1.7L, no major mods, 106000 miles and last oil change was 2k ago.

go to autozone, get your codes read, report back.
The brake light and oil light shouldn't be related, so the issue may be stemming from your ecu.

Just because the light doesn't come on doesn't mean there aren't codes being stored for certain criteria to be met again for it to pop up. Also, have you checked your fluid levels? A brake light could possibly mean low fluid. Does the brake light come on when you're going down a hill or around a corner?

No codes, two unrelated systems giving warning lights.
I'm thinking it must be electrical then, I don't think it's an overheating cps since that doesn't explain the brake light. Go over your system and make sure the grounds are tight and clean and no wires are bridging.

All the signs are pointing to overheating CPS besides the lights, I do have a cluster swap from an 05 LX though so that could be why its giving weird lights.

Possibly the cluster swap is causing the brake light.
You should share the same details here as you did on 7gh, it being able to start up after cooling down is important.
