Warm Restart Problem on 2005 LX
Hi,
I have a 2005 Civic LX that is having extended crank time on a warm restart. It starts quickly early in the morning, but when I drive it for just a few minutes to the store, let it sit for about 10 minutes, the crank time when I restart is about 5 seconds.
I also have the MIL light on. I had it diagnosed at a local shop and they said the vehicle had a lean condition and recommended replacing the fuel pump and both O2 sensors. Does this sound right? Shouldn't they be able to pinpoint the issue? The sensors and the fuel pump aren't cheap, so I'm hoping that not all need to be replaced.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Warm Restart Problem on 2005 LX
It does sound about right. D series engines (and most other Honda engines these days) can have extended start times to reduce emissions at start, and if your O2 sensors aren't reading properly, it doesn't work effectively. Try the O2 sensors first and see what happens. The fuel pump can come later since the problem might be fixed without replacing it.

it does sound about right, but if the cel is on they should be able to provide you with the exact codes and they may indicate another cause.
