I have a 2003 Civic. I recently installed an old stereo in there, and one **** and one button (on opposite ends of the console) went out. I hated the stereo and had a new one professionally installed. This time the guy grabbed the lightbulbs that were the culprits and I went and got a replacement for each of the two bulbs at my local honda dealership. Now after this, ONE more **** is out (last time I checked). I want to get more lightbulbs, but the honda place only had the two I already purchased... I think I've found a place online. But the diagram on a couple websites I've found only shows TWO lightbulbs total????

I've also been reading that the dimmer wire or whatever can cause problems...the guy at Car Toys had mentioned for the headunit we would need a wiring harness with the dimmer wire, so perhaps this is what's causing the problem? The bulb(s) aren't really burning out, but a short is occurring or something?

Any clarification on my problems would help!

there are 2 bulbs total for the 3 *****, 2 bulbs total for the 3 buttons (2 if you don't have a/c, I think). There is also 1 "non-replaceable" LED each for the indicator lights on the buttons.

Thank you soo much for the fast reply! So I think I'm just gonna buy two of each bulb on this website (maybe more for good measure) and I should be set? Now that I think about it, half of the **** above it is out too, so that makes sense. Also my LED lights work fine, as of now, so that's all good (hopefully still, haven't been in my car since friday lol)

So about this dimmer wire stuff...I was just reading a little more about it and it seems this is a problem when people do it themselves because they wire it wrong? I've driven my car for about 2 hours total since the install, so I figure if there'd be a problem it would happen already...

yep, 2 of each is what illuminates all that.

As for your dimmer wire, I've always been told not to hook up the dimmer wire on a head unit.

Alright, well thanks for the info! I'll try and get the dimmer thing all sorted out with the installer.
