so i bought a 89 honda hatch and it didnt run i ran the problem all the way down to the fuel pump so i ordered a new fuel pump.

heres the problem...


when i hook the fuel pump to a 12v battery it works. I checked to make sure theres power to the fuel pump where you hook it up at. and there is

so when i go to hook up the fuel pump it doesnt engage. theres power on the wires until you hook them to the pump. if u take a volt meter and touch thewires while you hook it up to the pump it will have voltage then go to 0 when you touch them to the pump.

i cant figure out what this means any help please?

its the 1.5 engine

try returning the pump as defected, get a different pump. same, but just dif unit

but the pump works when u hook it straight up to the battery its not the pump....

Bad ground maybe?
