can i go to the dealer and just buy parts without bs
So the dealer is only down the street from where i live and one of the guy that i always bump to when ordering parts acts like a dick face.
i file a complaint and nothing happen he still treat at least i know of me like ****.
i know what i want and i can provide part numbers
i pay for my parts and i expect at least some appreciation of a customer.
buttt nooo gives me bs
so when you order a part and have part number all they gota do is place the order and then you pay for it right there and then,
instead this guy just be like oh if you provide part numbers you cannot return them even if they are not open and he say it with an attitude.and even fine print it on the receipt
welll **** you i know wat i want so place my order.
so anyway does anyone have any experience with the pricts at the dealers part service besides me

Yea they are brutal here too... It's like they are brainwashed to rip people off its horrible and be *******s. The guy here has no personality whatsoever. I cracked a small joke at him and he looked at me with that blank stare and pure hatred... Not sure what I did haha...

Re: can i go to the dealer and just buy parts without bs
If you're not pressed for time with parts, use hondapartscheap.com or hondaautomotiveparts.com.. Sure, shipping charges suck, but you'll get te parts hella cheaper.
However, the parts guy @ the dealership I go to is hella cool. He's hooked me up before. They're supposed to charge $250-ish before taxes for a head gasket kit, but I told him I could get it from one of those 2 sites for $180 overnighted, so he sold it to me for the cost they get it at, which ended up being ~$190 after taxes. sure, I paid a little more, but I didn't have to deal with credit card processing time and all that.

Re: can i go to the dealer and just buy parts without bs
I have many stealership horror stories, I think the funniest is when I went to mazda to get parts for my tribute and the parts kid said he did not have what I wanted, so I told the kid its right behind you on the shelf. I can see it from here, then he told me that my part number was wrong, and I laughed at him outright told him turn around and he got snotty about it. I kinda know the senior parts guy there and he raised an eyebrow at the attitude the kid gave me and I could see him **** his ear to what we were saying to eachother, I just simply replied listen I know what I am doing and I have been doing it for a while so just get me my part please its on the shelf behind you and I will be on my way. At which time the kid (I thought he was going to pop a blood vessel in his temple) pretty much yells at me saying he does not have it. So I grabbed the screen turned it around to show him the part number on his screen and he had facebook open, no parts screen!! I was like wtf, then the senior guy comes over takes my part and tells the punk to sit the **** down and shut up. He apologized to me and gave me my part for employee price. I have not been back since but I would imagine the kid got his *** chewed. Often times from my experience that superior smug attitude has been passed on by a lot of the older staff who work there.

Re: can i go to the dealer and just buy parts without bs
interesting, usually parts dept has always been the best part of the dealer for me. theyre not really tied to any other departments and its in their best interest to sell parts due to them making $$ from the high markup. whenever i go to order something i need asap, they treat me like a king. i know i could get it cheaper elsewhere but sometimes i cant wait weeks for shipping.
Re: can i go to the dealer and just buy parts without bs
yeah over here they are at there best giving customer bs
our knowledge isnt as good as theres hence they can look up direct parts off there computer and our resource is diffrent. if only we can look up there parts inventory letting us know if the parts are available or not online,
like auto parts store you can see if they are in stock or not

Re: can i go to the dealer and just buy parts without bs
Our guy is clueless... I mean, he knows NOTHING about the cars he is selling parts for. I was doing the head gasket and told him I need studs for the exhaust manifold and he looked at me and said "Why do you need those?". I proceeded to say I couldn't get two of them off and had to cut the stud off. He followed up with "You don't need to replace those". I said, I think I'd rather replace them thank you can you order the part. He then said "Okay, but I'm telling you... you don't need to replace those". I'm hoping he misheard the fact that I cut them off.
Re: can i go to the dealer and just buy parts without bs

I dunno, it seems like the dealers are real chill, too. They've been recognizing and joking with me as I walk in. Then again, I do always walk in, looking like I'm in the middle of the job I'm working on, with my Navy camo pants and a black wifebeater..

eh, the navy camo pants are only every now and again, and even then, they're not widely known just yet, just because they're fairly new. An unsuspecting person would think they're a blue urban digital camoflauge

the little "usn" marking is only on my pants 2, maybe 3 times, and they're hardly visible, at that.

Re: can i go to the dealer and just buy parts without bs
There is only one dbag Honda dealership around here. I think I told you guys this before, but I love telling this story for some reason. I went to the dbag dealership to get an oil pan drain bolt washer. Now, the other places I've been to give me like ten of them for no charge since they have like a gazillion of them. The guy goes and gets me a washer and prints out an invoice. Okay....this is odd. Never had this happen. I look down and they charged me 2.50 for a goddamn washer! I was gonna steal it, but I just left it on the table and left. No effing way I'm paying damn near three bucks for a piece of thin metal. That dealership seems to have higher prices for oem stuff than the others too. I've stopped going there. Now that I think about it, they're just overpriced, but I still hate them.
Re: can i go to the dealer and just buy parts without bs
lol for a washer
i got 4 copper washer off auto zone for that price and works like a charm
and also i can use it on other people car too when i do there oil change and charge them maybe a buck

Wow, I'm glad I don't have those issues here in San Diego. I guess I have 3 things going for me at my local Honda Parts Department:
1) Military - Gets me a 5 Percent discount at the register (even after the Filipino and Pizza Discounts)
2) Filipino - Matches any advertised price on the net or by a dealer, including hondaautomotiveparts.com
3) Large Combo Costco Pizza every 2 or 3 visits - gets me the Honda invoice price (sometimes below), plus any "unadvertised promos", free shipping (if not in stock) and tax included prices.
While I was in the military, I made sure that I was always "overly nice" to certain people:
People who served me food. People who handled my money. People who provided me transportation. People who gave me vaccinations. And most importantly, as an aircraft and helicopter mechanic... ... THE PEOPLE WHO GOT ME MY PARTS.
Whether they were rude, ******, jerks, smelly, obnoxious, etc. I made sure I showed them the love. It might take a while, but it always pays off in the end. Especially if you own a 7th Gen Honda.

Nah dude, go to one of those websites I mentioned earlier, make yourself an "invoice" by adding stuff to your cart, and bring it in. See if they'll match the price. Technically, Majestic ad south bay Honda are both dealerships, and that was the logic I used to get my "discount"

Re: can i go to the dealer and just buy parts without bs
I was asked to leave the dealership after getting in a fight with a service advisor and tech once. I overheard the advisor telling a customer that the R18 transmission does not have a fluid filter, which is idiotic since Honda/Acura transmissions have all had fluid filters since 6g civics were released. The customer should be given correct information, so i interupted and told them it has an internal filter and an external filter located under the battery and told the customer that the external filter wasn't a service item but its a good idea. The advisor flipped, asked me what made me think I knew more about Hondas than him, then a tech walked in and backed him up on lack of filter. So I went to majestic on my phone, pulled the part # and diagram up and showed the customer. I guess the employees were pissed, because they asked me to leave. I don't really care though, I already had my **** and the customer left with me without buying anything. As a thank you he took me to starbucks, now I go to a dealer thats farther away from my house but close to my school. Better keep my mouth shut there hahaha
Re: can i go to the dealer and just buy parts without bs
Man, I feel sorry for you guys. I'm lucky, the closest dealer to me is literally 10 blocks away. Everybody except the cashier are very nice and helpful, especially the parts guys. I've even spoken to the owners and they were falling all over themselves to make sure I was getting attended to. I have always gone to them for parts because they're as cheap or cheaper than the online guys, including shipping. Point in fact, the first time I went up there I printed out the page from Majestic. Took it up there and said can you give it to me for this price and he said my price is $2 cheaper. lol. The only thing I have to say bad about them is if you want a new car or work from them you have to give up your firstborn to pay for it.

Re: can i go to the dealer and just buy parts without bs
the service advisors are a total joke. i asked for fun what the procedure was for a valve adjustment since they charge nearly $200, and when i hinted at having to leave the car there for a few hrs to cool down, they said the valves can be adjusted when the car is warmed up and there is no need to let it get cold. needless to say i wont be getting work done there lol.
Re: can i go to the dealer and just buy parts without bs
