How to deal with rust?
I bought a 2001 Honda Civic, my first car. I know that rust is bad for the cars so I want to deal with it as soon as possible and I want to do it myself to avoid additional major costs. I have attached the picture of the rusty spot on the hood-- could someone recommend me how should I fix it? I really appreciate your help.

you are lucky cause its on a replaceable piece. you can just get another hood and swap it out. but if its not too bad, use some rust dissolver gel to eat off the rust, then scrape off any excess with sandpaper and wash it off with water. dry the area and apply touchup paint to the bare metal. thats it.
