Exclamation Seatbelt not locking very well...

Hey guys.
So Emma here is deciding to act up...

My driver's side seatbelt won't click normally.

I have to insert the buckle, and move it around for about half a minute before it finally clicks. Either that, or jamming usually works too.

Any ideas?

yeah happened to me under warranty and they replaced the buckle. try spraying some lube in there like silicone. i still get that happening sometimes and i think its just a defective piece.

Re: Seatbelt not locking very well...

I dealt with this problem on my wifes 01 LX the other night finally.
I used the air compressor to blow out the crud from the latch at 130PSI.
The latching got a little better. I did it again many times with the latch pointed down into the seat to better evacuate the foreign material.
That helped some more.
The final touch was to spray a quick shot of Tri-Flow into the latch and repeatedly fasten the buckle about 50 times while wiping the excess lube with a rag.
The latch now works perfectly for the first time in the two years of owning the car!!!

Hmm interesting...
I played around with it the other day, and it works a bit better now...
I'll try spraying some WD40 or something in there to see if it helps...
