i have a 2002 civic lx and i have a pretty bad vibration problem through out the car.bad enough to make everything in the car including the hood to raddle. i just had the motor and trans mounts replaced and the car still vibs at idle around 1k. plz help im out of ideas and i cant pin point this thing. if it were to be a missfire prob what are some other signs i can look for?

can you describe it better? is it at idle, while the car is moving, what are the rpms, is the engine light on, etc.

its mainly at idle at about 1k but when in motion the vib is hardly noticeable except you do feel a contstant thud on the gas pedal.

almost sounds like the engine is misfiring, or there is a problem with fuel system. maybe try changing the spark plugs first and see if that helps.

Check for loose trans and engine mount bolts.

Yeah, I was gonna say engine mounts. Sometimes if the mounts are bad it makes the knock sensor read weird and causes a misfire condition.

The vibration started before i changed my all my mounts. The only mount not changed was the rear. But i do have new mounts and the vibration still persists.. Is there anyway to check the rear mount. Its a hard vibration and is noticable even when moving. But the vibration isn't as noticable when moving due to road vibration.
